Question: I and a friend are planning a cross-Asia journey from Malaysia to India. I've decided to stay around north India and then move overland into Pakistan, then Iran and finally Turkey.

With Iran, is it easy to actually get into the country? I'm British if that makes a difference either way!

Would I be able to apply for an Iranian Visa in Lahore or Karachi for example?

Also how long would it take to receive a visa after applying?

 

Answer: As a British national, you have to contact an Iran-based agency to apply for your visa. Your reference number will be ready in about 10-15 working days then you can refer to the embassy to collect your visa in two working days or post your documents to that embassy and collect your visa in a week.

After being stamped in your passport, this visa is valid for 3 months. Your exit may happen after this period.
