Question: Have any Canadian passport holders had success recently in obtaining an Iranian visa. Is it mandatory to go through a third party these days (like key2persia) or can you just apply directly (in person or express post) to the Iranian Embassy in Ottawa (without the aid of a third party). I was successful doing this 8 years ago but I don't know about now. Would like to know the latest experiences from Canadians aquiring an Iranian visa.

Answer: Canada is in the list of 10 countries not authorized to apply for a VOA, hence it is almost a must to apply for the Iranian visa through an Iranian travel agency. They mostly charge EUR 30-35 for visa service

The case with the Canadians is not that of problematic and in about less than 7 working days, the reference number will be ready for your referral to the embassy.

It is also possible to apply directly through the embassy instead of an agency, but it takes longer time to get a response.
