Question: My wife and I got visas for Iran in Ankara about 2.5 months ago, and plan to enter the country from Van, Turkey. I'm scared that I misunderstood the 3-month validity of the visa. I thought it means that we have 3-months to enter, and then our 30-day visas kick in and we can have 30 days.

Answer: After the visa is issued, you have 3 months time to enter Iran and 30 days to explore the country. Your exit may happen after the 3 months validity without facing any problem.

Visa extension will be done in the Alien Offices of all the major cities such as Shiraz, Esfahan, Tehran, and Yazd. You should provide them with two passport-size photos, about $20 and of course your passport.
