Question: I have been looking at prices in Iran on WikiTravel and it just sounds too cheap to be true!! Surely it cant be that cheap?!! Can anyone comment on this?
Answer: Compared to western European prices (slightly higher than US prices) Iran is about 3 to 4 times cheaper for the typical tourist expenses like food, hotels, museums, transport etc. Be a bit on your guard with taxi-drivers: as in every big city on earth not all of them are charging you a fair price. In a shared taxi you can consult the other passengers, but in a private taxi ("dar bast") be sure to negotiate or ask around before taking one.
