how is Tehran in (early) August? Should be quite hot, but since the heat is dry, is it bearable? I'm from Germany. Are you allowed (as a man) to wear T-shirts or short sleeve shirts in Tehran in summer or do you have to cover yourself?

In August the warmest time can reach 40C in Tehran, Shiraz or Isfahan. It sounds bearable though it depends on the climate you are accustomed too. The women are not allowed to wear T-Shirts or Short sleeve shirts and you have to cover yourself though you can wear bright-color thin clothes but the men are allowed to wear T-shirts.
