I'm thinking to do some hikes in the Alamut Valley. However, I wonder if there are hotels or places to stay there. I think about staying in Golestan Inn in Gazor Khan. Do you have any recommendation? Or do you think it’s just enough to visit the valley and castle from Qazvin and come back to Qazvin and the end of the day.

If you are in Qazvin you can take a day tour from the city to Alamut valley and go hiking and at the end of the day come back to Qazvin that is around 3 hours driving in total. If you are in Tehran consider an extra 5 hours to the driving so it is better to stay overnight in Alamut valley. Regarding the hotels you can stay in Hotel Noizer in East Alamut District or many other ecolodges such as Oghab (eagle) Eclodelge, Alahmoot Ecolodge, Andaj Rood Ecolodge. or Bagh-e Golestan homestay and the restaurant that is near the steps which go to the castle.
